Vitiligo Treatment
The primary symptom of vitiligo is the appearance of white patches or depigmented areas on the skin. These patches can vary in size and shape and can occur anywhere on the body. They are more commonly found on areas exposed to the sun, such as the face, hands, arms, feet, and genital areas. In addition to the skin, vitiligo can also affect the hair, eyebrows, eyelashes, and even the inside of the mouth.
Vitiligo can affect people of all ages, genders, and ethnicities. While it is not a life-threatening condition, it can have significant social and psychological impacts on individuals, as the visible nature of the condition can lead to self-esteem issues and emotional distress.
Vitiligo is not curable. It is only treatable. Moreover, it is not even preventable. The goals of vitiligo treatment are to control the spread of disease and to get back the lost pigmentation in the affected area.
